I am a jewellery maker living and working in Trollhättan, Sweden. I’m inspired by the everyday and the ordinary. Our desire to escape everyday life is interesting. In my work I twist and turn everyday objects. Through mind hand collaboration I wish to emphasize the magic in the mundane. Every day and the plain are parts of life often put in the shadow of party and extravaganza.
Potato is a great part of my work. Potato as culture crop share human history and can through this illustrate much of our endeavors. For example in our future plans on colonization of other planets, one of the first questions to arise is Can we grow potatoes?
My potatoes are made using materials such as copper from my parents old copper roof, wood from my garden, bio resin, a product made from industrial waste, pigment from second hand porcelain painting pigment, potato starch, through which the potato makes a potato again. Using materials that surrounds me inspires and decide my techniques.
I have a manifesto on material use, where I declare my materials to be the ones surrounding me. I try not to buy any materials but to have them given to me, harvested or found by me. For inspiration I walk.
"To live in peace, grow my potatoes and dream"
